
Project Overview
The project comprised the redevelopment of an existing brownfield site with demolition and removal of existing industrial units and the design and construction of a new Travis Perkins builders merchants and Benchmarx Kitchens facility.
The works consisted the construction of a new 14,700 sq ft steel framed merchants unit 6.00m to haunch, including five level access doors, shop front entrances and general windows and doors. The building is clad with composite and built up cladding and the internal floor area is insitu concrete to FM2 finish.
Externally the works comprised extensive reinforced insitu concrete service yards with external lighting, and furniture. Boundary treatments included alterations to existing adjoining highways entrances, retaining details to adjoining land and security fencing to the entire site. Drainage consisted of new connections off site and included a pumped storm installation and extensive attenuation and soakaway installations.
The project was designed and completed to a very good BREEAM 2014 accreditation. Fitting out works were undertaken by Travis Perkins directly with early access to the building facilitated by Lodge Park.
